Tracing Touch Drawings
In this project, I explore the link between drawing, touch, and time. Using a camera lucida, I create delicate tracings of objects that capture my interest. These drawings are the first step in a process that will lead to the creation of unique ceramic pieces.
By focusing on objects with rich histories, I aim to connect the past and present. The camera lucida drawings, with their soft lines, show a moment suspended in time. They invite the viewer to pause and consider the object's journey.
As the project progresses, I will transform these drawings into 3D forms using a combination of digital tools and traditional techniques. The final objects will bear the imprint of the original drawing, linking the 2D and 3D worlds in an intriguing way.
The resulting ceramic pieces will offer a tactile experience that echoes my connection with the original objects during the drawing process. By encouraging interaction, I hope to deepen appreciation for the stories within everyday objects.
Through this project, I continue to explore drawing as a way of transferring touch through time. The process of tracing an object with the camera lucida creates a physical connection that is then translated into a new medium. The ceramic objects become vessels for this connection, allowing others to engage with the past in a unique and intimate way.
Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project as it unfolds, and prepare to experience the fascinating journey from drawing to ceramic.
