Elements

Taking inspiration from a 17th Century plate in the London Museum's collection, I created my own 'hand' font to recreate the 'You & I are Earth' sentiment and extended it to include all four elements. Each cup is slip cast porcelain with handle and saucer. The forms are deliberately warped, lending them a handmade and responsive quality - mirroring how ceramics itself embodies the transformation of all four elements in its creation.
